It’s true: Charging such low fees within the normal acupuncture practice structure would put me out of business very soon. But if I offer pure acupuncture without frills to several people in an hour, this clinic would be a self-sustaining business, as long as the volume stays high. This means no frills, no extras, nothing fancy paired with enough patient referrals to keep the chairs full most of the time.
(Don’t worry; your points will be custom-tailored for you alone. Community acupuncture does not mean needling everyone with the same point locations.) If I think that you need moxa, I can teach you how to do it yourself, at home. If I think that you need herbs, you can choose to buy them.
